Tap anywhere on the screen during a dive. Each tap cycles the lantern one step through the order Aqua → Coral → Amber → Violet, then back to Aqua. Only drifters whose core matches your current color are caught at the Haul Line.
QWhat is a Shifter, and how do I spot one?
A Shifter is a drifter that changes its core color once, partway through its path to the Haul Line. It's marked with a thin outline ring the moment it spawns, so watch for the ring rather than the starting color — the color you see first isn't always the one that counts at the line.
QWhy did my streak reset to ×1?
Streaks build in steps of five: every five drifters caught in a row raises your multiplier by one, up to a maximum of ×5. A single miss — letting a drifter cross the line with the wrong lantern color lit — resets the multiplier back to ×1 immediately.
QHow do I unlock a new Glow?
Each of the six lantern finishes in the Glow Collection unlocks from a specific milestone: total drifters caught, best streak, or best score on a given depth. Locked cards show a lock badge with no hint text — the Field Guide inside the app lists the exact thresholds.
QWhat's the difference between Shallow, Current, and Abyss?
They change the pace of a dive: Shallow uses three colors with a slow, forgiving spawn rate and no Shifters. Current adds a fourth color and a steadier tempo with occasional Shifters. Abyss runs the fastest spawn rate with the highest share of Shifters. Every ten catches in a dive, speed and spawn rate tighten further, on any depth.
QCan I reset my progress?
Yes. In Settings, press and hold Reset Progress for about 1.5 seconds — a small ring fills to confirm the hold. Releasing early cancels it. This clears your best scores, streaks, glow unlocks, and totals, all stored locally on your device.
